Based on your feedback, the board may make a recommendation to the Ministry of Natural Resources to officially adopt the proposed name. Official names appear on government maps and publications.

Island located on Nine Mile Lake in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, District Municipality of Muskoka and the Geographic Township of Wood.

Origin

Locally known name for over 30 years that references the original owner.

Location

Island located in Georgian Bay at the north end of the Moon River in the Township of the Archipelago, District of Parry Sound.

Origin

Locally known name that is derived from the Moon River and describes the island's predominant quartz granite feature.

Located on Pelican Lake 0.5 kilometres east of Equay Miniss and approximately 0.5 kilometres south of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout in the District of Kenora and Geographic Township of Drayton.

Locally used name for 80 years that describes the shape of the island.

Location

Located approximately 1.4 kilometres south-west of Trail Lake and just east of Highway 105 and about 28 kilometres north north-west of the Municipality of Machin in the District of Kenora.

Locally known name for 60 years that is a memorial to English war brides.

Located east of Scotia Lake in the District of Sudbury and within the Geographic Township of Scotia.

Locally known name that acknowledges the builder of the only hunting camp on the lake established in the late 1960s.
